Writing update

Well, I finished my proposal for a new romantic suspense story (the one originally designed as a choose-your-own adventure with four exciting endings, but now, only has one).

Not only that – I finally figured out how I could maybe, just maybe, convert NIGHT ARROW from a Bombshell to a Romantic Suspense with a capital RS. Just the thought of saving that story has me as weak in the knees as any romance hero could make me! It’s all about shifting the focus, of course, and I wasn’t ready to even try. I was too crazy about it as a Bombshell. But time appears to be healing all wounds, or at least, most of them. Sigh…

Don’t worry, I’m not drifting back into Bombshell mourning. For one thing, it’s too soon. New and wonderful Bombshell stories are being released each month. For example, I think Stephanie Doyle’s POSSESSED is hitting the stands this week, although I might be a little off on the timing.

And of course, even though SPIN CONTROL isn’t in the stores any more, it’s available at www.eharlequin.com, so Bombshell is still making its last stand. Also, the Athena Force continuity for which I wrote CHARADE is reportedly alive and well, although I have no idea when, where, etc.

That’s it for now. Have a great Monday!

I have been wishing and wishing that Bombshell will resurrect...I know I am delusional and need to move on...and I will try...eventually!

I am happy that you are able to re-think NIGHT ARROW. I know you are excited about that story. I hope the revise goes well for you!

Bombshell Resurrection
I'm with you, Charity -- I keep waiting for the Governor to call with a pardon.

Thanks for the encouragement for NIGHT ARROW. You're right, I really want to write that story, mostly because I carefully, subtly, set it up in EXIT STRATEGY and SPIN CONTROL, and if it never sees the light of day (or dark of night) all that work will be for naught. Waaaaaah....

Take care.

OMG, the thought of seeing NIGHT ARROW on the bookshelves has me on tenterhooks. MIght this be a single title, perchance? Or by "romantic suspense with a capital RS" means Silhouette Romantic Suspense?

Hi Karm! Well, I would love to write Night Arrow as a single title, but I don't get the sense that that's an option at Silhouette for this book. Too bad too, because it would be easier to write that way.

In the original (bombshell) version, the hero is there from Chapter One, Page One, but more as an obstacle than a "hero" for the first third of the book. He's the scientist in charge of the NIGHT ARROW project, and he's the moody/absent-minded genius sort. The fun part of the original version would have been the moment he started catching on to what was really happening. I can still do it that way, I think, but just make him more heroic faster (gag -- oops, I mean, sigh...)

Talk to you soon!
