New puppy (as yet un-named)

Sometimes my weekends are dominated by one or two huge projects or events – good or bad. This weekend was filled with minutia – some routine things that didn’t get done while I was sick, some early stages of tax preparation, shopping for a birthday gift, etc.

On top of that, my daughter Amanda, who has been hunting for a new little brother for Peanut for months, finally found the perfect little guy. No name for him yet, but he’s an eight-week old ball of fluff, same color as Peanut (I’ll post a picture soon. The one attached to this blog entry is Peanut). The new one is half-pomeranian, half-chihuahua. Supposedly, chihuahuas do better with other chihuahuas, and hopefully, Peanut will eventually welcome the new guy into his family.

Bottom line? On top of everything else, we have a mini-circus underfoot. This little guy is so tiny! When I was growing up, my family always had collies or shepherd/collie crosses, so our idea of a “tiny” little puppy is much larger than this. We had to drag the photo album out to remind ourselves.

Little Cody/Parker/Rocky is sleeping right next to me at the moment, curled up with one of Amanda’s slippers. My husband just took Peanut for a walk, so both animals are happy.

In other words, it’s nice at our house this weekend. I’m glad it’s a three-dayer. Of course, I hardly got any of the minutia taken care of, but there’s always next weekend, right? Meanwhile, I plan to do some writing today as soon as I decide which project to work on. Either the time-travel or the young adult. But I’ve forbidden myself from thinking up any new stories! I just have to finish something, and stop juggling so many at one time.

Famous last words…

Yeah, I keep telling myself that, too. My agent is also telling me that, stridently. :)

taking the no-new-stories pledge
I think we've got the makings of a new sensation here. Kind of the opposite of NaNoWriteMo (sp?). March can be NoMoPlotMo or something.

Re: taking the no-new-stories pledge
That's an excellent idea. In the month of March we pledge not to think about, dream up, or work on any new stories, only work on the ones we've got already on the table?

I swear, the whole thing makes me feel like I've got the attention span of a gnat. 'Oooh! That's a cool idea! How about I work on THAT instead! ...except nobody's paying me for that...damn.'

Attention span of a gnat? That's it exactly!

And no one's payng me for anything right now, so I'm worse than before. It's wide open over here, from UFO-historicals to psychic fetuses. I definitely need to take the pledge...

For March though, right? We can still daydream for the rest of February!

My idea of little is also weird! We have labs. We have bred one of them, and it is funny to see other dog and puppies that are from smaller dogs. It amazes me how lab puppies are HUGE newborn compared to other breeds are at 8 weeks.

Hope all is well with you! Keep up the writing I am very anxious to see what comes next from you!

little tough guy
You should hear his tiny little bark, Charity. It's hilarious. He thinks he's a tough guy, but to me he's just a powder puff with attitude.
