the silence of the blog

Sorry for the prolonged absence!

I’ve had some ambitious ideas for blog topics lately, but I don’t follow through on them, mostly because I’m tired from the relentlessly-crazy day job, so when I finally relax, it’s straight into a TV-induced coma.

Then there’s the fact that I have politics on the brain these days, and we all know I’m not going to blog about that (which is a good thing because I keep changing my mind anyway, candidate-wise. I like a few of them, but I am almost certain they will break my heart eventually because… oh well, you know, they’re politicians, and… )

However, I’m happy to report that some minor tasks have been accomplished. For one thing, my Comcast bill was all screwed up, and finally, we’ve gotten it unscrewed.

Also, I’ve been shopping for a laptop with a mobile broadband card because I’ve developed a pathological need to be connected to the internet every waking minute of every single day. I can afford the laptop and the card, but $60 per month for access? On top of the amount I already (over)pay Comcast for regular broadband? Sheesh…. Anyway, I’ve decided against it. For now. I’ll keep you informed. Maybe even join a support group.

And finally the freshly printed copies of my YA novel have been shipped to my agent, who (hopefully) is submitting them as we speak. Please cross fingers!

Not much of a blog post, but at least it brings me into November. I hope all’s well with you out there.

1) Comcast is the devil.

2) what about Sprint (http://sprint.com) or T-Mobile (http://t-mobile.com)

I'll check out t-mobile. Thanks for the tip! I never even thought of them (mostly b/c Dell offers three cards -- sprint, att, and verizon -- so I didn't realize T-mobile had the option). And since Sprint does a decent job for my work Blackberry, I was thinking of using them to feed my habit.

Oh, and in my world, Comcast is a minor demon. It's Frontier that's the devil.

I'm kidding (not).

Thanks again for the t-mobile lead.

Re: sprint
I have Frontier aka Citizens out here. The problem with EG is that we have no PacBell aka SBC. The only other service to be offered in EG is SureWest. And they're not done outfitting all of the city yet. At least that's what I heard awhile ago.

Re: sprint
I've got frontier too, being in EG myself. I can't wait to switch, either to SureWest or to Comcast Voice (thereby making the assimilation complete and putting me entirely at their mercy). Anything but frontier.
