You can see how well I'm doing with it. It's the 24th, right, and I'm posting my first entry of the year. But I have a couple of good reasons (for being gone, and for coming back)

As some of you know, I lost my Dad in 2008. It was devastating to say the least. My family was reeling, but we held it together for my Mom's sake. In October, we lost her too, so.... We comfort ourselves with knowing they are together somewhere, and won't be ripped apart again. Not ever.

As far as coming back goes, I have a new book coming out in March. I'll post about it in a minute, in a fresh post that doesn't make me cry.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for checking back if you came looking for updates lately and found nothing.

Praying for your family.....lost my dad as well

Not sure if you remember me as it has been quite a while since I have visited you...:-)

My dad had been seriously ill a year and a half ago and was only supposed to have 60 days and you encouraged me to find a way to go see him. He ended up lasting more than a year and a half but passed away three nights ago(Monday Feb. 1, 2010). There IS no preparation for the death of a loved one. Even with him as sick as he had been and knowing it was coming.

I had been meaning to mail you and thank you for what you shared on your blog about your dad as it stayed with me and was of great comfort to me and I can't even tell you why. Just has always stayed with me. I scraped together every penny I had and took off work a week and got to be with him for a few days in May. Was super hard as I didn't know if that would end up being the last time I would see him again. Turns out it was.

I pray for you and your family all the time but will say some extras.

take care,

I'm sorry to hear about your father, Jeanette. And I'm so glad you got a chance to visit him.

Meanwhile, of course I remember you!

Take care, and welcome back
