Hi everyone,

What do you think of this book cover?  I personally love it, partly because this guy looks soooo much like the guy who was in my head when I was writing it. Behind those shades, he has silver eyes. As in, liquidy, silvery, mercury-y, eyes.  Like all good Zentarrs (from the planet Zentarus). Torr came to Cortierra to train their pilots to fly like Zentarrs -- a skill they need in their battle with the rebels. Then Torr announces he has to return to Zentarus because he has an inconvenient, and deadly, case of lust fever. He needs a Zentarin mate, unless of course, by some miracle, some Cortierran female.... (do you see where I'm going with this?)

It's a good story and it's being released by Samhain Publishing on March 30 23, 2010. Just around the corner! Meanwhile, the story behind the story is pretty good too -- at least, in my opinion. I dreamed this one up years ago. Probably 9 years ago to be exact. But it's one of those cross-overs -- not really enough romance to be a romance, way too fixated on the technology, etc.  I liked it so much, I was tempted to e-pub it myself, but considering my skill level (I had trouble adding the image to this blog, for e.g.) I decided not to write it. Yet. So I wrote other stories that were a better fit for the market, but this one never stopped haunting me...

Then Samhain put out a call for novellas for an anthology. A SPACE OPERA anthology. And Torr sprang easily to mind, silver eyes and all. I wrote the novella, submitted it, and was rejected (ow) but with the promise of having it considered as a stand-alone. Yay!

So here we are -- me and Torr (and Cabbie, of course) and Samhain. I couldn't be happier.

Back to the cover. Let me know what you think. It's quite different -- very edgy. But then, so is Torr. I think this cover artist achieved something special here, and I couldn't be happier.

I'll post a full blurb soon. And meanwhile, Samhain already has the first 10 pages up as an excerpt on their site. They're quick! Needless to say, I love them.

Re: Yea and congrats
I will indeed! thanks! I'm glad it sounds buy-able to you.
I do think you'll like it. It's a bit like my bombshells in tone, but different of course b/c it's in space and (much) racier.
