co-dependents: kate and comcast

I’m so tied into the internet – for work, for writing, for other responsibilities – that I’ve often thought it would be such a relief if our internet service – or better still, the whole darned thing – went down for a day or so.

I forgot to add the caveat: a day or so of my choice!

Not today, for crying out loud. I’m supposed to do taxes, and post updates, and review work documents on line, and … and … and….

So here I am. Writing in Microsoft Word rather than directly on Livejournal. Checking every twenty or so minutes to see if it’s back up.

But I also took a bath. And went with my husband to Starbucks for coffee. And picked the first crop of Springtime roses in the yard.

So all in all? Not too bad. As long as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and other computer/internet gurus are getting my taxes done while I play, I’ll be fine.

[Posted after the fact, of course. I hope you had a great day too, internet-free or otherwise.]

Kate

p.s. It went on for two whole days. A few more hours and I would have gotten a great horror plot out of it. Did I mention we get our phone service through them too. In retrospect, that might have been a mistake.
