Writing Update

It’s been a while since I gave an update, so here goes!
  1. The space opera:
It started with a simple idea, but got more and more complicated – which I like – and then spawned a sequel, which I also like. (Okay, who am I kidding? I love it.) However, having learned my lesson about sequels, I knew it would be easier if I took some time during the draft of the first book to figure out the bones of the next book. Next thing I knew, I was writing book two – really writing it – which is wrong. Just wrong. So I decided to take a break from it, and get to work on the romantic suspense story, since – well, that’s the one I’m supposed to be writing anyway.
  1. The sports guy story:
This one just snuck in under the radar and it seemed like a great idea – to spend some time on a short story to transition between space stuff and suspense stuff. Long story short? It’s no longer a short story J
  1. The romantic suspense:
This is the one I’m working on at the moment and I love it so much, it’s embarrassing. However … yep, it had puppies, a.k.a., it’s now a trilogy. The first book is almost done, and since I’m apparently hopeless, the second of three books is almost done too. What can I say? I need to know what happens!

So that’s what I’ve been doing. Oh, and cooking too since my son is coming home this weekend. We’re having corned beef because we gotta, and I’ve also made some chicken soup with Spanish rice, and some pork chili verde and refried beans. I didn’t make homemade tortillas because they are a menace to diets everywhere, but we picked up some wheat-and-corn handmade tortillas at Nugget Market, and I’m imagining those will do just fine.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
Kate

P.S. I’ll be back on Tuesday to remind everyone that my very first book – a time travel – is being re-released as an ebook. I remember when the paperback went out of print (very quickly) and I thought to myself, well, that’s that. But apparently, it wasn’t, because TIMELESS will be available again. It has amazing sentimental value, plus I love the characters. And this time it has a decent cover! Trust me, the first go-round was so hideous, I still cringe. But all’s well now.
